Thanksgiving is how you see
A thanksgiving prayer is not manners. It is eyesight.
Without it, the day is a list of what is missing. With it, the same day has bread, a face, a working lung, a mercy you would have scrolled past. James says every good gift is from above. The prayer is just you agreeing out loud.

Name the thing, not the category
“Thank You for my blessings” does almost nothing to a heart. “Thank You that she called” does.
Be embarrassingly specific. The coffee. The diagnosis that was not that. The person who stayed. The verse that found you at the wrong hour. Specific thanks is harder to fake and harder to forget.
If you are sitting down to a meal, say it there. If you are alone, say it anyway. A table of one still has a Giver.
